The four of cups represents our tendency to take things for granted and to always chase more - more money, a bigger high, better stuff, a “perfect” life.
It is also the card of regret and missed opportunities since we are so busy chasing those things we miss what is right in front of us.
The four of cups urges us to take a step back and look - both inward and outward. To take stock and be grateful for the wonderful things we do have in our lives and be realistic about what we chase and why.
The pelican in a glutton. They will really try to eat anything and work by the premise of if it fits in the beak, it’s mine! Our pelican sits on an enormous pile of gorgeous fresh fresh that he has caught or perhaps stolen and has just retrieved another! Half of them will likely be fishie undead by the time he get to them and will be wasted but he still keeps looking for a bigger tastier fish!
I won’t be doing individual vids for the minor arcana, rather I will either wait till I’ve finished a suit and do one vid or possibly group together a number of cards that have a similar theme.
What do you think of the four of cups?
I was a pelican - I spent years chasing the dream of been a respected fashion designer and by the time I realised that fame and fortune wasn't for me (I didn't have the ruthlessness or the energy to get to the top and maintain a large staff) I had burnt out physically and emotionally and burnt all my bridges. I am also a bit of a hedonist - I love good food and drink and don't always known when to stop so the Four of cups is a good card for me to keep in focus.
